Will Olson here! Thanks for stopping by and we can’t wait to meet you.
Denver Local Tours was formed through our genuine love for the city and our desire to create unforgettable experiences for visitors and locals alike. With over 20 years of combined hotel and restaurant management experience— we know the city inside and out.
We LOVE our city and we are committed to creating community driven experiences where you know that by eating at a local restaurant, drinking at a local bar, and shopping local you are not only supporting our community— you are now part of our community. #DenverlikeAlocal
We’ve partnered with some great organizations around Denver. If you are looking to have a greater impact please take a look at our partner page. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities here in the Mile High City.
Meet Your Ambassadors (aka guides)
Carla
Heya! I’m Carla and I moved myself to Denver from Atlanta in 2003 to start my career as a chef. While enjoying all outdoor things Colorado has to offer in my free time I have worked for many Denver restaurants, stores, caterers, and food lovers over the years. My favorite way to spend my day is hiking in the mountains or running in the city while pre-burning off all of the calories I plan on eating and drinking afterwards!
Fun fact: I am a competitive endurance athlete with too much sporting gear to park my car in my garage.
Must try food: I didn’t know what green chile was until I moved here and I’m in love ever since. La Loma’s silky and spicy version with their homemade tortillas is my favorite Denver comfort food.
Must do in Denver: RINO patio brewery crawl
Bo
Hi there folks! My name is Bo and I moved to Denver about 24 years ago. Occasionally, I’ve moved away, but always end up returning for our mountain air and increasingly amazing city. Before working as a tour guide, I worked for restaurants all over Denver and the country, in every capacity from working on the line to being the General Manager. My favorite thing to do here is EAT! In the past 25 years our culinary scene has exploded, and there are few feelings better than exploring that explosion while meandering through our city.
Fun Fact: In 2nd grade I wanted to be the Chairman of the Fed…..I know…super weird
Favorite Restaurant or must try food:
5th String in Denver! You’re a fool if you don’t try the tallow candle bread service!
Must do/See in Denver: High Tea at the Brown Palace – Step back into the 1920’s for an hour or two!
Will
I like to call myself a “Naturalized Coloradan.” I’ve been living here in Denver for over 20 years. I’m a history buff and whiskey enthusiast.
“No good story ever started with a salad…”
Fun Fact: I love to eat oysters… just not the Rocky Mountain kind.
Best Happy Hour: In LoDo- Jax Fish House or Nallens Irish Pub.
Must Eat: The mushroom (hongos) taco at Tacos Tequila Whiskey. I’m a meat and potatoes kind of guy and I’d eat the mushroom taco everyday.
Must do/See in Denver: Rent a scooter or bike and ride along the Cherry Creek bike path or visit the International Church of Cannabis (the murals inside are stunning).
